Firstly the second hand has been redesigned to match the original 1945 WWW more closely.
Secondly, the hour hand has been shorted very slightly to better fit the larger numerals like 10 and 11.
I hope you agree with me that these minor changes are welcomed.
As a side note, yes, this does indeed mean all the watches are now in the UK. Boxing will begin next week so expect another update at some time toward the end of next week.
Thank you & stay safe,
]]>I will probably be increasing the tempo over the next few weeks as everything comes together so I'll keep this update brief.
As I mentioned, assembly is well underway, and all of the automatic watches are complete and on their way to the UK to be strapped, boxed & packaged. We are expecting the first batch of the hand-wound movements to arrive next week.
This puts us well on the way to begin shipping all watches in December.
You can see the slight changes to the hands in these early pictures, but I'll post an update with a proper side by side comparison.
]]>We now have everything we need to begin assembling the first watches.
We are still waiting on is the last of the hand-wound movements from Sellita but we expect those in the next few weeks.
I'll keep you updated as thing start coming together this month. Very exciting.
Thank you & stay safe
]]>Things are all falling into place, and we have now finally received all cases from our manufacture. They have turned out great. I'm so pleased with the bead-blasted finished.
The etching also looks fantastic.
The next things to arrive should be the dials and hands; then our watchmakers can begin assembling.
We are running precisely to the new, Covid amended, schedule, so our confidence in shipping all the watches in December is still very high. It's not long now.
]]>Firstly I need to start with an apology. I got a little over-excited last month and misread the delivery date for the cases and dials. They will be arriving in early October and not early September. So I, unfortunately, don't have pictures as I promised last month. I'm sorry for getting everyone's hopes up.
However, I do have a pleasant surprise. The first batch of movements from Sellita arrived ahead of schedule. Our watchmakers have begun a strip down and thorough inspection.
Furthermore, I've started prepping the orders, and some of you will have already received your Kickstarter survey to gather your address.
Don't worry if you haven't received your survey yet; I'm doing them in small batches, and you should get yours soon. If you think you may be moving before December, you can wait until you know your new address. I'll also be sending out confirmations before we ship to give you the last chance.
]]>We have now received all our AF straps from https://af0210strap.com. They look great. We've had our logo etched into the buckle and printed on the inside of the strap alongside AF0210's.
All backers will be getting one of these with their watch. But for anyone who wants extra, expect these to go on sale in the next few weeks.
We are going to start to gather shipping information, so keep your eyes on your inbox for a Kickstarter survey.
Other than that, I don't have a whole lot to say this month. We are in the calm before the storm. I'm hoping the following few updates to start getting interesting. We are expecting the dials and cases in the next couple of weeks, so we should have some photos.
Stay safe everyone.
]]>Another short update this month. Things are still progressing nicely. The last of the AF straps are being printed and I should have them in the next few weeks. In Switzerland, production continues on schedule.
As I promised in my last update, here is a sneak peek at the packaging for you guys.
I'm really happy with how they have turned out. I've designed the double wide pillow to accommodate both straps or you could even keep your original W.W.W nright next to its modern brother.
But packaging is more than just a box. I've also been working on the accompanying documentation. Each watch will come with a certificate, instructions and a thank you note.
I'm still tweaking these designs so any input is welcome.
Stay safe everyone.
]]>Just a short update this month. Production is still humming along, and our suppliers reassure me we are still on track.
As it's been a fairly quiet month, I'd like to reveal a little surprise I've been working on since the project ended; A 75th-anniversary commemorative coin.
All watches bought this year will ship with this coin as a way of showing our gratitude to everyone who has helped make this watch a reality.
As I mentioned in the last update, the Contemporary Straps have arrived, and the new colours will be available for sale soon. I'm just trying to negotiate a better price to ship internationally before I release them. At the moment the shipping cost would be more than the strap its self.
The watch boxes are now complete and on their way to me, but I'll save that for another update. Do you want me to reveal the full unboxing experience or should I keep it a surprise? Let me know in the comments.
Stay safe everyone,
]]>As promised, I’ll keep these updates monthly for now, then increase the pace as we start getting close to shipping. I know everyone is itching for updates so thank you for waiting so patiently.
In the last update, I promised the final design for the case back so here it is;
The feedback has been brilliant. The overwhelming majority of you wanted the most traditional of the options, and I'm delighted to keep the design close to the original. We’ve even incorporated some of your feedback to arrive at something that holds true to the original but includes the limited numbering.
Some mixed news from Switzerland this month. Production has begun on all the major components - case, dials, hands. But there isn't any updates on the movements. Sellita has a considerable number of backorders to get though after the shutdown and we still don't know when we can expect the movements from them.
Now that most of our manufactures are back at work I’ve been able to finalise the changes to the hands with our Swiss partners. We’ve tweaked the shape of the second's hand and slightly shorted the hour hand.
Lastly, this week the first of the straps have arrived. They’ve come out great.
We'll be selling these new colours on timorwatch.com soon so stay tuned.
I'll hopefully have even more good news next month.
Stay safe everyone.
]]>Things are beginning to move, and some parts are well underway. The straps and package have begun production and are on schedule. I even have a sneak peek of the custom buckles for our A.F.02100.
It’s not all good news. Things in Switzerland are still moving slowly at the moment due to restrictions from the Government. Many of our manufacturing partners are either temporarily closed or are operating with a skeleton staff. We managed to placed our order for movements with Sellita before they closed and we should be one of their first orders when they reopen. I’m keeping in regular contact with our Swiss suppliers and monitoring the situation.
We allocated two full months of contingency in our initial roadmap, so there is still the possibility of watches shipping in November. However, we had not anticipated this scale of distribution, and there is a real possibility shipment may slip into December if Switzerland continues to stay locked down into mind May.
I’ll keep you all updated on the situation as it changes.
Stay safe everyone.
